The first issue of Universitas, devoted to “Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Higher Education in the Age of Digital Transformation”, brings together contributions from scholars who, from an interdisciplinary perspective, explore the relationship between higher education, digital transformation, and the demands of ethics, transparency and academic integrity. The articles examine policies, practices and tools that are reshaping educational institutions, with particular attention to the rights of students and staff, data governance, the impact of artificial intelligence, and inequalities in access to knowledge. This issue is addressed to researchers, academics, education professionals and policy-makers interested in critically understanding and steering the ongoing changes in the field of higher education.
