At the end of March 2012, the 2nd edition of the Post-graduate course (Master italiano di secondo livello) INTER HEd - Internationalisation of Higher Education was launched. The course is organized by the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan), in partnership with CIMEA (Rui Foundation). The Italian "master" focuses on the internationalization of the higher education institutions, with the aim to provide students with advanced skills for the management and the solution of the fundamental issues arising from the differences among education systems, the recognition of foreign qualifications and the participation at international mobility programmes. The course is addressed to the administrative staff at universities and higher education institutions; public administration officials, who deal with the recognition of foreign qualifications; Italian diplomatic representatives and staff of Italian cultural institutes; administrative staff in charge of giving information to students; academic staff responsible for drafting the application to international projects related to higher education. The course lasts 12 months and provides 60 ECTS credits. Modules are offered with a mixed form of attendance (in class and via distance-learning), with part-time attendance (from Friday, 11 a. m. - 7 p. m. to Saturday, 9 a. m. - 4 p. m.), which makes it possible for students to combine the course with personal activities and professional responsibilities.
The course is managed by Maria Teresa Zanola, Professor of French Language and Translation in the Faculty of Linguistic Sciences and Foreign Literatures of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Milan), while Luca Lantero, Director of the Italian NARIC - National Academic Recognition Information Centre (CIMEA), is in charge of the teaching coordination.
